They are typically made of durable steel materials and are designed to support the weight of the gate as it moves along its track. The wheels are attached to the bottom of the gate and roll along the track, allowing the gate to slide smoothly and efficiently. The sliding wheels come in different types and designs, some of the most common are: U-groove wheels: These wheels have a U-shaped groove that fits into a matching U-shaped track, providing a secure and stable fit. Flange wheels: These wheels feature a flange or lip that keeps the wheel securely in place within the track. Ball-bearing wheels: These wheels have ball bearings that allow for low-friction movement, making them ideal for heavy-duty gates. Sliding wheels are designed to be low-maintenance and easy to replace, making them a convenient choice for gate manufacturers and installers. They also come with different capacities and can handle different weights of the gate, which is important for commercial or industrial gates. They are suitable for outdoor use and can withstand different weather conditions and temperatures.Typical ApplicationsSliding GatesAutomatic GatesDriveway GatesFAQWhat groove profile does the DB100UR10 gate wheel have and which track is it compatible with? The DB100UR10 features a double-flanged U-groove profile with a 100 mm wheel diameter and 10 mm axle bore. It is designed for use with U-channel steel tracks (WTU8 and WTU10 series) with a rail width of 30–40 mm. The U-groove provides positive lateral guidance, preventing the gate from derailing even in high-wind conditions. What is the maximum gate weight the DB100UR10 can support? Each DB100UR10 wheel is rated at 400 kg static load. For a standard sliding gate using two wheels (one at each end of the bottom rail), the system can support gates up to 800 kg. For heavier gates, use four wheels (two at each end). Always ensure the track is correctly embedded and level to distribute load evenly across all wheels. What bearing type is used in the DB100UR10 and does it require lubrication? The DB100UR10 uses sealed deep-groove ball bearings (2RS type) that are pre-greased and maintenance-free for normal residential and commercial applications. The sealed bearing prevents ingress of dust, water, and gate track debris. In heavy industrial applications with continuous operation, we recommend replacing the bearings every 3–5 years or when noise or roughness is detected. What material is the DB100UR10 wheel made from? The DB100UR10 wheel is manufactured from ductile cast iron (GGG50/EN-GJS-500-7), which provides high wear resistance and impact toughness. The wheel body is hot-dip galvanised after machining. The axle is manufactured from 45# carbon steel, heat-treated to HRC 40–45. This material combination provides a service life of 15–20 years under normal residential use.How is the DB100UR10 wheel mounted to the gate frame? The DB100UR10 mounts to the gate frame using a roller holder bracket (RHL or RHI series). The wheel axle passes through the bracket and is secured with a split pin or M10 nut. The bracket is then welded or bolted to the bottom rail of the gate frame. Ensure the wheel axle is horizontal and the wheel groove aligns with the centre of the track. Is the DB100UR10 available in stainless steel for corrosive environments? The standard DB100UR10 is cast iron with hot-dip galvanised finish. For highly corrosive environments (coastal, chemical plants, food processing), we offer a stainless steel (Grade 316) variant with stainless steel bearings. The stainless steel version is available as an OEM order with a minimum quantity of 200 pieces and a lead time of 45 days.Request a quote from HST
